2. How we use information

3. How Remi's AI works

Remi is artificial intelligence, not a human being. To generate Remi's replies, the content of your conversation is processed by a third-party AI provider, currently Anthropic, whose commercial API terms prohibit training on your data, and that provider returns a response. Remi's replies are generated by software and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Remi does not provide medical, mental-health, legal, or financial advice, and you should not rely on it as a substitute for a qualified professional.

4. Connected accounts (Google Calendar)

You may choose to connect your Google Calendar so that Remi can see what you have coming up and help you manage it. The connection is optional, the Service works without it, and you can disconnect at any time.

What we access

Google Calendar. Connecting your calendar grants one Google permission, calendar.events, which lets Remi view and edit the events on your calendars: event titles, times, locations, and details.

This is the only Google permission Remi requests. We do not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, your contacts, or anything else in your Google Account.

Gmail is not yet available. We plan to offer an optional Gmail connection in future, which would grant read access to your email messages and their metadata (sender, subject, date, labels) so that Remi can keep track of receipts, confirmations, and replies you are waiting on. It would be requested separately and granted separately, it would never let Remi send, delete, or modify email, and this policy will be updated before any such connection is offered. Until then, Remi has no access to your email of any kind.

How we use it

When you ask Remi something that needs your calendar, the relevant details are processed by the third-party AI provider described in Section 3, for the sole purpose of generating her reply. We send only what is needed to answer you. Where an event has other guests, for example, Remi receives the number of guests rather than their names or email addresses.

How we store it

We store the credentials Google issues us, encrypted, so that Remi can reach what you connected on your behalf. We do not keep our own copy of your calendar. Details are read when they are needed to answer you and are retained only as described in Section 8.

What we never do

We do not sell Google user data. We do not use it for advertising. We do not permit human review of Google user data except with your explicit affirmative agreement, or as required for security or legal compliance. We do not use it to develop, improve, or train generalized artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models. We do not transfer it to others except as necessary to provide the Service to you, to comply with law, or in connection with a merger or acquisition after giving you notice. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

How to disconnect

You can disconnect at any time from the integrations tab of your account, or from the permissions page of your Google Account. Disconnecting revokes our access immediately and deletes the stored credentials, and Remi will no longer be able to see or change anything on your calendar.

5. Sensitive information

Because of what Remi is, you may choose to share sensitive information, such as details about your mental or emotional health, relationships, or sex life. We treat this content as confidential to the operation of the Service, we do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising. No advertising partner receives your messages, anything Remi remembers about you, or anything you have told her about your health, your relationships, or your feelings. We are not a healthcare provider, and your messages are not medical records. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing.

6. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only as described here:

7. Service providers

We use trusted third-party service providers to operate the Service. They process information on our behalf, under agreements that limit their use of it to providing services to us. These providers include categories such as:

8. Data retention

We keep your account information and conversation history for as long as your account is active, so Remi can remember you and be useful over time. If you ask us to delete your data, or after a period of inactivity, we delete or de-identify it, and we aim to complete verified deletion requests within 30 days, except where we need to retain limited records to comply with law, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. Billing records are retained as required for tax and accounting purposes.

9. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights: to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to opt out of certain processing, and to receive a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these, email us at billing@callmeremi.com. We will verify your request using your phone number and respond within the time required by law, and generally within 30 days. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

California (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the right to know, delete, and correct their personal information, to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not sell your personal information. We do share limited web-browsing information from our public marketing pages for advertising measurement, which California law counts as "sharing" even though no money changes hands; Section 10 sets out exactly what that is and how to opt out. We use sensitive personal information only to provide the Service you request, and we never share it for advertising. You may exercise your rights using the contact above, and you may use an authorized agent. Residents of other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws may have similar rights, which you can exercise the same way.

10. Sale and sharing of personal information, and your choices

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we never have.

California law also treats some advertising measurement as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising, whether or not money changes hands. So that this Policy stays true rather than convenient: our public marketing pages (our home page, our checkout page, and the page you land on after subscribing) load an advertising tag from Pinterest. Pinterest may set cookies or similar identifiers and may receive your IP address, browser and device information, which of those pages you viewed, and whether you subscribed. Under California law, that is sharing, and we say so plainly.

What is never shared this way: your messages with Remi, anything Remi remembers about you, your name, your phone number, your email address, your Google Calendar data, and anything you have told Remi about your health, your relationships, or your feelings. Pinterest's tag offers an optional identity-matching feature that sends a hashed email address, and we deliberately turned it off. The tag is not present on your account dashboard, your login page, or anywhere else behind your account.

Your privacy choices: how to opt out

You can opt out of this sharing in any of the following ways. You do not need an account, and opting out does not change the Service. Remi works exactly the same either way.

11. Text messaging

Remi is delivered by text message (iMessage or SMS). By messaging Remi, you consent to receive messages from us, including recurring automated messages such as the daily check-ins you agree to. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of messages at any time by telling Remi to stop or contacting us, and we honor opt-out requests promptly. See our Terms of Service for full messaging terms.

12. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your device and phone number secure.

13. Age requirement

Remi is intended for people 13 and older, and users between 13 and 18 may only use it with the supervision and consent of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If we learn that a person under 13 has used the Service, we will delete their information. Remi is a companion chatbot and may not be suitable for everyone.

14. Not a crisis service

Remi is not a mental-health, medical, or emergency service, and it is not a substitute for professional care. If you are experiencing a crisis or thinking about harming yourself, please contact a crisis line or emergency services right away. In the United States you can call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) or dial 911. Remi is designed to encourage you to reach out to these resources when appropriate.

15. Where we process data

Remi is intended for users in the United States, and your information is processed in the United States. Some of our service providers may process limited data in other countries, and where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards. The Service is not directed to users outside the United States.

16. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you by text or other means. Your continued use of Remi after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
